Tobias S. is a Key Account Manager in the Export Department at the Krüger GmbH & Co. KG. Tobias S. grew up with the KRÜGER GROUP, so to speak. From his school, it was only 400 meters as the crow flies to the factory in Bergisch Gladbach. That’s why he had the smell of cocoa or coffee in his nose every day – no wonder it led him here after the end of his school career.
How did you come to KRÜGER?
After graduating from high school, I did a three-month internship at the Bergisch Gladbach site and then applied for a training position as an industrial clerk and was accepted.
What kind of training have you been doing at the company?
In 2018, I started a dual study program with a focus on business administration. Before that, I successfully completed the two-and-a-half-year training as an industrial clerk.
Why did you decide on a dual study program with the KRÜGER GROUP?
After my apprenticeship, I wanted to stay in the company and continue my education. In a conversation with a former student here at the Bergisch Gladbach site, I heard about the possibility of a dual study program – that sounded exciting. That is why, after talking to the people in charge, I decided to follow this path as well. I like the mix of theory and practice. I can continue to work in the company three days a week and attend courses at the university in Cologne on the remaining two days.

What do you particularly like about working for the KRÜGER GROUP?
“In my current role as a key account manager in the export business, I am responsible for maintaining and developing our customer relationships in Eastern Europe. I appreciate the daily contact with people from different countries and cultures.”
I was also impressed by the fact that my employer talked to me early on about my time after training and was very accommodating when it came to combining work and study.”
Do you have plans for the future?
“I would like to further expand my current position and develop in the area of sales and export in the long term. It is particularly important to me to stay within the KRÜGER GROUP because I feel very comfortable here, the team is great, and I see exciting prospects.”
